Aleksey and Alex’s Markovina Vineyard wedding

They had a beautiful sunny day, their ring bearer Altai did a wonderful job (photo below), which as you read on, was a huge surprise.

Alex and Alekesy have shared with us a hilarious review of their day! What they loved, and things you should watch out for:

What is your favourite memory of the day?

Having all of our favourite people in one place to celebrate together. 

What surprised you on the day? 

There were a number of surprises which caught us off guard:

The first was my Mum holding herself together all day without blubbering, while my brother burst into tears the moment he saw me arrive (see our fun little sequence below)!

The second was our dog putting in the performance of his life as ring bearer. We were expecting absolute carnage when he arrived, but he knew he had a very important job to do and was the best-behaved ring bearer you could ever ask for. He enjoyed himself so much that he didn’t want to leave after delivering the rings – one of the groomsmen had to pick him up and carry him out! See Altai the ring bearer below!

Another surprise was the length of our Dad’s speeches!

Both of our Mum’s said they had been vetted and approved, but together they managed to speak for a combined total of 1.5 hours…my Dad had THREE costume changes. 

What was one thing you wish you had known before planning your wedding? 

How quickly the day would sneak up on you, and once it arrived how quickly it goes!  

What’s your advice for future couples? 

1. Make sure you have a celebrant that you know, and trust, who reflects who you are as a couple. 

2. Don’t sweat the small things – the people are there to celebrate you, not your table decorations. 

3. Time your Dad’s speech!! 

4. Delegate a close friend or family member to be your ‘troubleshooter’ – if anything comes up on the day.

What is your favourite photo and why? 

So hard to choose, there are so many!! The one of Aleksey and I standing in the field together with the sun setting behind us is my favourite though.
