Jonathan & Talitha’s Kumeu Valley Wedding

Jonathan and Talitha married at Kumeu Valley Estate in Auckland. We love shooting weddings at Kumeu, and know some of the best locations for a photoshoot. Muruwai beach is not too far if the weather is on our side, and we managed to sneak Jon, Tal and their bridal party away for a little adventure.

Read on to hear what Tal’s advice is to our future couples:

What is your favourite memory of the day?

Jonathan: Apart from the food, my favourite memory of the day was when I got to see Tal walking down the aisle to me. It was like a dream come true. 

Tal: Having all our friends and family there, celebrating us as a married couple – all the congratulations, speeches and hugs, it made us feel so loved. It all just affirmed our relationship and what a wonderful man I chose. 

And it was really special that my mom was our celebrant (below)

What surprised you on the day? 

Both: We were pleasantly surprised that we got perfect weather! But also surprised how quickly the day went by, before we knew it we were heading off from the reception as a married couple! 

What is your favourite photo and why? 

Both: The photo of us holding hands with the Muriwai cliffs in the background (below). We just love the lighting, and how striking it looks. I love the powerful image of us standing unified. The dramatic west coast beaches are some of our special places, where we’ve been on many dates. 

But it’s so hard to choose a favourite when they’re all so gorgeous!

What was one thing you wish you had known before planning your wedding? 

Both: To not get too hung up on all the small details, because on the day you hardly even notice if everything goes and looks as planned. All we were thinking about was each other.

What’s your advice for future couples? 

Both: Relax, don’t stress. It’s a day of love, excitement and happiness.
