Sharon & Matt’s Devonport Wedding

Sharon and Matt chose to celebrate with their closest friends and family at the Waitakere Boating Club in Devonport, Auckland. The venue has huge bifold doors that look directly out to the beach, the perfect location for a glass of bubbles while mingling with your favourite people.

What is your favourite memory of the day?
There are a couple of favorites – one was going down to the village with Amber before the ceremony to have our photos taken (our rainy day option). It felt slightly clandestine and fun!
The other was coming down the front steps after the vows – walking through the petals, having some bubbles, doing a twirl and being with friends and family in that moment (photo below).
What surprised you on the day?
How smoothly it went and how much we enjoyed it after all the planning and preparation!
What was one thing you wish you had known before planning your wedding?
The weather – it rained!
What’s your advice for future couples?
Keep your core team small. It’s easier to manage and for decision-making
What is your favourite photo and why?
Us down on the rocks on the beach with my white furry jacket on, with Rangitoto in the background and that amazing sky behind us! It seems to capture how we felt and the special quality of the day (below).

Amber was easy to deal with. She was always prompt to reply to queries, flexible and super-approachable. She was calm and relaxed on the day (despite having a new baby!) – which was reflected in how we felt when having the photos taken. We both absolutely love the pics and couldn’t recommend Perspectives highly enough!
