Gracehill Estate Kumeu wedding venue

Irene & JH were married at Gracehill Estate in Kumeu 2 weeks ago – in one of the most intimate & touching ceremonies we’ve seen to date!
There weren’t many dry eyes, that’s for sure.
They chose to have a ‘first look’ moment & do the bulk of their photos prior to the ceremony – which we really love – it’s an awesome structure to the day. We had the most gorgeous light – both earlier in the day out at Muriwai, and later in the afternoon at Gracehill – even lucking into a stunning sunset!

Irene, it turns out, is quite the pianist! Even the gate at her parent’s place tells the story. Funnily enough – without even liaising between each other – we shot the jewellery at the girls, and the wedding rings at the boys house (one hour drive away) – both on piano keys!

It was a busy morning – while JH wrote their wedding vows on a nice card, Irene was filling in the marriage license. Nothing like some last minute pressure!

Irene’s brother keeps beehives at the property – and for their wedding favours, all the guests got to take home some of his home-made honey.

Irene isn’t the only musician in the family – Dad had prepared a song to play to them at the reception later that evening.

On the way to the first look in the forest, we drove past this stunning little roadside tuft of purple wildflowers. Definitely enough to merit a quick stop.

Just after lunchtime, both JH and Irene were ready to see one another for the first time. I love how none of the anticipation of the moment is lost, just because it’s before the ceremony. That face says it all.

The strong sunlight filtering through the trees meant we had plenty of cool lighting to be geeky with – just what we love here at Perspectives!

Back at Gracehill, the guests had gathered, and the ceremony took place. Irene & JH had another beautiful moment as she came down the aisle – with the ‘first look’ – it means you get to have that experience twice!

They paid respect to the parents with a traditional Korean bow at the end of the ceremony.

We spent 15 minutes after the ceremony to grab a few last photos in the soft afternoon light. These guys are just too cute.

Just before heading inside to begin the reception proceedings, we scored a stunning sunset at Gracehill.
