Bridgewater Country Estate wedding photos

Sarah & Brendon were married a week ago at Bridgewater Country Estate, near Kumeu.
Sarah loves her horses – so it was quite fitting that the very first shots I caught once I arrived out at the girls place was Sarah going for a wander down to move some tape & move the horses. We even managed to get one of them into our photos later on – which was very well done, considering the big (scary, for a horse!) white dress.
The boys got ready, and arrived out at Sarah’s parent’s house in Waitoki – where they had a gorgeous first look moment & saw each other for the first time.
We then did photos around their property – a stunning pine forest, and sweeping vistas out over the fields.
At Bridgewater – Sarah & Brendon were married down near the lake, and shortly afterwards the rain closed in (it had thankfully held off up until this point)!
We had a bit of time set aside for “sunset photos” during the reception… but with the rain steadily falling, that was never going to happen. Instead, we used some lighting to pop out the raindrops in the sky & got a cool shot on the stairs looking back up towards the reception.
So without further ado – here’s a little sneak peek of their day. Enjoy!

Right at the end of the night, I had packed my bags, farewelled Brendon & Sarah, and loaded up the car. I was sitting in the carpark, just about to drive off… but I kept thinking about the little fairy light lined tunnel I had just walked through… and wondering. So out of the car I got.. and played around in the rain for the next 20 minutes – experimenting with colour gelled flashes, various light setups, and finding cool objects to shoot through. Finally – I was convinced it was worth one more shot… so back inside I went (quite soggy by this point) – I relocated Sarah & Brendon on the dancefloor and offered them the chance to duck out for 2 minutes to get one last night shot. Luckily they agreed – and here it is 🙂
