Benita & Jainesh

St Matthew in the City

St Matthew in the city wedding | Wallace Arts Trust wedding | Auckland Wedding Photographer

Benita and Jainesh are an amazing couple who met by chance when Benita was looking for a place to stay in Wellington. As it turns out, Jainesh’s uncle was a pastor and a friend of Benita’s uncle. They hit it off right away and became great friends.

After a while, Jainesh had started to develop feelings for Benita, but she was taking things slow. Even when he confessed his feelings for her, she laughed it off and hoped it wouldn’t ruin their friendship. But even when she went back home to Auckland, they stayed in constant contact, talking and texting all the time.

Then, one day, Jainesh surprised Benita by showing up in Auckland for a whole four weeks just to spend time with her. And it was then that Benita realized that life without Jainesh felt incomplete. The distance between them had only made her heart grow fonder. And before they knew it, they were engaged! Jainesh had planned this incredible surprise proposal that involved a helicopter ride over their home and a violinist playing their favorite song, Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud.” And of course, she said yes!

Benita and Jainesh created the most spectacular aisle inside St Matthew in the city. The mirror effect meant that we were able to double the incredible architecture inside and create the most striking effect.

Their brief to us was romantic, classy, and elaborate, so for their photos we headed to the Auckland Museum and Pah Homestead (Wallace Arts Trust).

Benita and Jainesh – thank you for sharing your incredible wedding day with us. It may have taken us a while to get there – but just like your relationship – it was worth the wait.
