Alysia & Danny’s Cherry Blossom Wedding

Alysia and Danny married under the cherry blossom trees at Auckland’s Kumeu Valley Estate. They had the party we love to see, and we got the shots that will keep the memories of their day alive.

What is your favourite memory of the day?

Our favourite memory of the day was seeing each other for the first time as Alysia was about to walk down the aisle (epic moment below). We realised that everything we had planned for was about to come together and we were overwhelmed from knowing that we were about to get married.  

What surprised you on the day? 

We were surprised by how fast the day went. Everyone always says the day is a blur but we didn’t appreciate just how quickly it would fly by! It was a whirlwind adventure. 

What was one thing you wish you had known before planning your wedding? 

How important the little moments amongst the whirlwind of the day were going to be. We loved every moment with our friends and family but the quiet moments with just the two of us where we could absorb everything that was going on were extra special. We wish we had known just how special they would be so that we could plan a few more of them into our day rather than just noticing them when they happened. 

What’s your advice for future couples? 

Start planning as early as possible and then you have the choice of your vendors who are important to your day. Planning is always more enjoyable when you have more time and less pressure! 

What is your favourite photo and why? 

The two of us under the cherry blossom trees, is one of our favourites (first photo above)! We absolutely love the cherry blossoms and feel that it captures the emotions perfectly, we were so happy to be married (taken just after the ceremony) so everything in the photo felt natural!
