They say every thundercloud has a silver lining – sometimes when “plan A” changes dramatically, you realise that it all happened for a reason.

Bex and Gareth originally planned to marry in Auckland, but when those plans needed to change, they instantly fell in love with Woodlands. But not just the traditional parts of this beautiful venue – Gareth (a landscape architect by trade) saw the potential in the beautiful grove of oak trees out back – so over the next year they and their support crew groomed and sculpted it into exactly what they wanted.
Of course, you can’t plan everything – and despite all their finger crossing and breath holding – the rain arrived. The silver lining? Rain photos galore, the opportunity for some beautiful photos inside the homestead and a little gift of the most perfect patch of sunshine just as they entered their reception.
