Waipu Wedding Photography

Cam + Lisa met at work, but in one of those weird cosmic twists, they soon realised that they had grown up just a few minutes down the road from each other. They went to the same intermediate school and even have mutual friends.
Their wedding was held at Lisa’s parents home in Waipu, and it was incredible to see how much time and love their family had put into getting everything ready for them.
Cam & Lisa kept it simple, with one official bridal party member – and a whole bunch of unofficial ones. Cam planned to get ready by himself, but that didn’t stop his mates from joining him and making sure his tie was straight and his hair was perfect.
After the ceremony we took a wander headed for the water – a quick stroll on Waipu Cove beach and the estuary and then we were straight back to the guests. We saved our favourite spot – the Pa site up on the hill just in case we got some sunset light. A few minutes beforehand, we were looking up at the completely clouded over sky and saying “ah well, let’s head up anyway – it’ll still be beautiful in this soft light” and then out of nowhere the sun peaked through and made everything next level magic! We had some glowy golden light, some punchy light that lit up the dramatic clouds behind, and finally the sky began to glow an epic pinky orange! To say we were excited is an understatement (mainly me).

Vendor Shoutout:
Usually this is quite a long list of different vendors – but in this case I have to give an epic shoutout to Morgan (Married by Morgan) – who single handedly took care of most of the roles on the day. She not only did an amazing job of Lisa’s hair and makeup, but she was an epic celebrant and a wonderful MC. And did it all while fitting in so seamlessly, that I would have thought her another guest!
I also got to hang out with my good friend Paul from Shaun Paul creative who was on video and had a little boogie to the sounds from DJ Zach Martin.
