The Verandah wedding

Alex’s family have owned their farm in the Waikato hills for nearly as long as Alex has been alive.
She grew up there, spent most of her life exploring this land.
Their first idea was to develop an area of the farm and have the entire wedding on the property… but as their guest list grew, the logistics did too!
Instead, Alex spent the morning getting ready with her bridesmaids in the house filled with all those childhood memories. Then Jason arrived, and they had their ‘first look’ moment down by the implement shed. (This is the first time I’ve ever written ‘implement shed’ in a blog post!)… followed by a photo shoot around the farm.
Alex’s Dad had spent weeks preparing the farm for these photos – we came and scouted locations – bamboo was specially trimmed… everything was in place. What no-one counted on though, was a week of heavy rain – washing out farm tracks and churning things to mud. Nothing could stop these guys however – a sweet tractor / trailer transportation, along with hay bale seats and a custom built staircase to get in & out, was the perfect solution!
Afterwards, Jason was surprised by the bridal party walking up the aisle to the Imperial March and Star Wars theme song 😀
After the wedding ceremony, and tea ceremony, we headed down to The Verandah at Hamilton Lake for the reception and to party the night away.
