Waiheke Wedding

Adam and Elisa’s friends and family flew from all corners of the globe to celebrate their day with them. Adam is a kiwi boy who grew up on Waiheke Island, so it was the perfect place for their destination wedding. With Adam being a local, he was able to guide us to some new and exciting locations.
Adam and Elisa met when Adam moved to Sydney several years ago – Elisa was looking for a flatmate and Adam was looking for a flat. Neither were looking for a prospective husband or wife, but when Adam was the first flatmate to offer to tidy up – she knew he was something special!

Elisa and Adam managed to beautifully include Elisa’s Japanese heritage during their ceremony. Elisa’s aunt performed a traditional wedding song (the same song that was performed at her parents wedding!) and Elisa’s family also performed a sake ceremony while Elisa’s brother shared the significance to the kiwi guests.
This was the first time I had the opportunity to photograph at the indoor venue at Mudbrick Lodge. The light is just beautiful and is such an amazing plan B when the weather is looking a little wet! After the ceremony, we took a few moments with just Adam and Elisa to stroll the hills above Mudbrick – the perfect breather before diving in to their reception.
