The Officers Mess

Tessa and Elliot are two of the loveliest people you could hope to meet. They met at Uni, where they were both studying Geology, so it was only appropriate that their outdoor, relaxed wedding was overlooking one of Auckland’s most significant geological structures – Rangitoto Island.
Their love of geology was woven throughout their entire day – their tables named after precious stones and types of rock, their ring box was made of crystals, and the epic celebrant – Yvette Reid – wove more geology puns through their ceremony than I would have thought possible!

You may recognise Tessa and Elliot from such weddings as – Mark and Maria‘s. It was so lovely to see so many familiar faces and catch up with all the family. Tessa and her sisters set the bar for the speeches incredibly high at Maria’s wedding, so there was a lot to live up to. They absolutely nailed it with a touch of musical theatre, props and a good helping of Disney.
We took all their photos within a few hundred metres from the venue, meaning we could take our time and relax a bit. I was pretty certain that we weren’t going to get a sunset (and I’ve had that exact thought at the Officers Mess before!) but the venue must have the ear of some higher powers, because right on schedule the clouds parted and we got a few minutes of the most beautiful colour in the sky. Magic!
