Team T-Rex
Oakura Bay Waiheke Wedding
Photographed by Isaac and Zahn, Filmed by Jared and Jay
There’s a little bay on Waiheke Island, with a quaint villa, sitting right on the beachfront – and nothing else at all. It’s such a perfect spot for a wedding – one of the only Waiheke Island wedding venues that you can have a marquee and totally DIY your own setup.
Rex and Tracey chose Oakura Bay as their wedding location – with Waiheke being a pretty special place for them – Tracey’s family have a house there and they frequently visit the island. It didn’t take long for their friends to give them a cool couple nickname … and T-Rex just kinda stuck. So much so, that they incorporated the theme throughout the day – T-Rex cake toppers, some amazing chocolate dinosaurs handmade by Rex’s mum… and the piece-de-resistance… a huge 1.8m T-REX sign outside the marquee. Love it!
The big focus for Tracey and Rex was really just to spend time with the guests, have a great party, and relax. It was perfect for us – because that’s exactly how we love to shoot… candid, unscripted, just a genuine epic day. All the “creative shoot” photos took place right out front of the venue, within a 20-minute window while the guests took their seats. Other than that – we were just hands-off, chilling with the guests & capturing everything as it happened. Just the way it should be 🙂
So here’s both their wedding video and wedding photos of their day below. I hope you enjoy the festive spirit that was their wedding day!
