Muriwai wedding photos

 Steve & Nikki have been waiting a long time to get married.
In fact – they were engaged for 26 years! After 2 children, living in the UK, and recently emigrating to New Zealand – getting married is the next logical step, right?!
This made for the most intimate wedding though – because you could really tell that they knew one another inside out. It was very family orientated, and very emotional for everyone.
One of my favourite moments was finding out during the speeches that when the kids were young, Steve asked them if they could change one thing about the past – what would it be?
Their daughter replied that she would have loved to be Mum’s bridesmaid. (not knowing, at this stage, that Mum & Dad weren’t actually married). And all these years later – her wish came true.
The morning kicked off with the boys having brunch at Muriwai, while the girls had hair & makeup done at home. They both got ready in the same house (without seeing one another) – I love the balcony shot … we get to see them both, but they can’t see each other!
We headed back to Muriwai for some photos after the ceremony – it’s a very special place for both Nikki & Steve – so it was perfect to be able to incorporate this setting into their wedding photos.
