Cleopatra & Stephen
Markovina Estate Wedding | Summer Wedding | Vineyard Wedding
Cleo and Steve’s wedding day was so full of emotion, you can feel the energy in each image, and not just between the two of them but amongst their family and friends too (Especially during the ceremony!). Read on to hear what Cleo and Steve loved the most about their day.
What are your favourite memories of the day?
Cleo: Seeing Steve for the first time on the wharf at Boathouse Row and laughing together at the sound of the drone going overhead. Looking at all of our photo-booth photos together at Boathouse Row that night, and reading our cards. And lastly, I laugh when I think back to me driving us to Boathouse Row in my wedding dress and no shoes on!
Steve: Seeing Cleopatra walk down the aisle, and our first look out at Boathouse Row
What surprised you on the day?
Cleo: How many people cried and just how much our ceremony meant to so many people. I definitely cried reading my vows, but I did not expect so many of our guests to be so touched by our ceremony. It was really lovely to hear. Another thing was just how calm I was on the day, I think I expected to be more frazzled, but I was truly just so calm and excited to see Steve, and to marry him! I cried walking down the aisle however, as that’s when it hit me that the day was finally here!
Steve: How quickly the day went by, they say it goes by quickly but this went by insanely quick!
What was one thing you wish you had known before planning your wedding?
Cleo: I had been married before but I wish I had not tried to squish as much into the day. As it just goes so fast, I would have liked to have had more down time to just relax with family, friends and Steve.
Steve: How hot it was going to be on the day, being summer and all we knew it would be hot, but being the only sunny day all week amongst torrential downpours made it incredibly hot on the day. Definitely would have been far more comfortable having a night time wedding. In saying that, I still wouldn’t change anything from the day!
What’s your advice for future couples?
Cleo: Honestly EVERYONE says it, but just slow down, take it all in, as the day truly flies by. I remember just weeks after saying to Steve I wanted to get married again haha.
Steve: It might be an added expense, but get yourself a videographer for the day! Everything goes by so quickly, having something to sit down and watch back is a nice way to refresh our memory of the day!
What is your favourite photo and why?
Cleo: Our sneak peek photo on the wharf made me cry! Another one of my favourites is us in the sun flowers at Boathouse Row.
Steve: Would be one of the photos of the bridal party in the hay field, popping off a bottle of champagne with everyone laughing! Highlights the kind of wedding we wanted, and had!
