You know you have a couple who totally adore each other, when you ask them the question “what do you love and admire about each other” and you get a novel in response from each of them.
Among the many, many nice things they had to say about the other, Kat shared that she loves Ash’s determination and stubbornness, her unwavering support and the way she dances. Ash admires Kat’s love of learning new things and that she’s a strong independent woman who don’t need no man. Oh and she makes a good milo.

We were fortunate enough to catch Kumeu Valley Estate right at the peak of the Autumn colour (these same autumnal trees are incredible cherry blossoms in spring!) and after a few photos with their bridal party, we snuck Kat and Ash off to a favourite sneaky spot.

We talked about how they wanted their day to be captured and we made a plan that we would look for something a little unconventional and even spooky. Both Kat and Ash are “raging nerds” (Kat’s words!) and they’re both huge Harry Potter fans. WIth the light fading quickly during their photoshoot – we were able to add in some of our own and create the most surreal fire-like glow which totally reminded me of an enchanted forest!

Arriving back to their reception and seeing how they’d further incorporated their love of enchanted into their table settings made everything fit together perfectly.
