Chloe and Seungmin’s wedding was far from ordinary. Having completed the legalities while living in Korea, this meant their NZ celebration could be exactly as they wanted it to be.
Their sisters lead the ceremony, which combined a mix a kiwi and korean traditions. There was a lighting of red and blue candles to signify the coming together of their two families, as well as a joining of red and blue ropes – even a gifting of wooden ducks. (Chloe and Seungmin weren’t 100% sure on the significance on this one themselves other than that it was good luck!)
We were even introduced to some Korean games in the morning!
Seugnmin and Chloe decided to do a “first look” before the wedding ceremony – this staircase was perfect for a grand entrance.
We had gone location scouting the day before and admired these hills from way down the bottom on the road. We had sighed wistfully thinking how amazing the view would be from up here.
We thought to ourselves “Ah well, maybe we can take some photos at the foothills – let’s just ask this lovely farmer anyway”.
Before we knew it we were on the back of a quad bike racing along farm tracks for our own private tour of this amazing property – once again blown away with how kind and generous some people can be. Thank you Kevin – you are a legend!
Chloe and Seungmin had decided that their wedding would be a family affair, with only their immediate families present. It meant everyone was able to be so much more a part of the ceremony, with every guest coming forward to bestow their best wishes for Chloe and Seungmin.
Another new tradition for us – Apparently the number of nuts and berries Seungmin’s mother was able to land in Chloe’s wedding dress is the number of children they will have. They are either going to have MANY children, or Seungmin’s mother was an incredible shot!
Chloe and Seungmin thank you so much for inviting us to be a part of your wedding day and for coming adventuring across the hills with us.
