Glasshouse Morningside | Auckland Wedding

Janine and Rodion’s story (like so many at the moment) is a tale of resilience and flexibility.
With their family being spread across NZ, it wasn’t looking likely that Wellington based Janine and Rodion would be able to make it to Auckland in time to set up for their Glasshouse wedding.

They needed to decide if they would postpone everything, or look for another option. Plan B was hatched from a family joke. Janine had for years teased her mum that when they decided to get married, it was going to be at their local park in Tauranga and they’d just have a sausage sizzle for dinner. Replace “sausage sizzle” with “Subway platter” and that’s exactly what they decided to do!

So while we were trapped in Auckland – our great friend and photographer Justin Aitken stepped in to save the day.
The first half of the photos you’ll see here are his and are just part 1 of Janine and Rodion’s wedding.

A few months later, when everything had once again returned to normal, we gathered together to enjoy the party half of their wedding day at Glasshouse in Morningside.
Because we now had all the time in the world, Janine and Rodion were able to get ready together and we went exploring around some of our favourite Auckland locations. We even had time to stop on the way for a cocktail!
They were fortunate enough to nail the timing for my all time favourite autumnal tree in Auckland as we wandered a block around Auckland’s CBD.

So here it is. A wedding of two parts. Enjoy!
