Nick + Mon
Auckland City Wedding
Photographed by Isaac & Amber
It’s not every day that we have clients come to us saying they’re planning a sleek, industrial style, urban wedding.
So we were totally excited and amped when Nick & Mon approached us with their plan & ideas.
Basically, what was important to them was creating a stylish atmosphere where they could have an awesome party with their guests, in a casual, relaxed setting – free of some of the formalities and structure that often go hand in hand with weddings.
That’s where Everybody’s comes in. If you’re looking for an epic, industrial style wedding venue in Auckland – this is a pretty rad spot. Monique also added many of her own touches and – along with some awesome styling by All The Frills – took a great space, and made it next-level.
Talking about what was important to them – Monique and Nick really wanted something genuine from their photography – something that captured the feel of the day, the laughter, smiles, and good times. This kind of documentary coverage (along with a smattering of cool creative portraits thrown into the mix) is exactly what we love – perfect match.
So without further ado – a classy, elegant, glamourous cocktail wedding in the heart of one of my favourite cities. Enjoy.
Before the preparations got underway, the boys met up with some family & friends for a pre wedding lunch down at the Viaduct.
Mon’s dress was a surprise to everyone – the reactions were suitably impressive.
There are so many benefits to having a ‘first look’ moment on your wedding day … not only did Nick & Mon get to have their own little private reveal, but it meant we could get the location photos done & dusted prior to the ceremony… not needing to leave the guests hanging afterwards while the bride & groom disappear for ages!
Monique is an illustrator – and this insanely intricate, detailed ceremony backdrop … she completely drew herself. Epic.
Even the walk up the stairs to the ceremony was perfectly in keeping with the industrial theme.
From this point onwards, the party really kicked off. The most delicious food was free flowing on platters the entire night – no formal sit down meal or seating plan in sight. The cocktails were designed by Nick & Mon, and expertly mixed by the Everybody’s bartenders. The beer was crisp. The speeches were hilarious. And the dancing (led by Mon’s stepfather on guitar) was on point. All the ingredients for an epic night.
